Name
Implementing Data Connect - Levels of Harmonization
Description

This session will use worked examples on realistic data sets to illustrate different levels of data harmonization effort that can be applied in implementation of Data Connect:

Level 1 - Data shared as-is with mechanical description of the schema. Burden is on consumers to understand and make use of the data.

Level 2 - Data is shared with well-described but still site-specific concepts. Data consumers have all the detail they need to make use of the data, but still need to deal with different definitions between sites.

Level 3 - Multiple sites align on a shared schema for their subject area, allowing data consumers to query across datasets effortlessly.

We will provide ample time for back-and-forth discussion with session attendees where relevant needs and experiences can be shared
