Name
gNBSeq: progress and planning
Date & Time
Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 2:15 PM - 3:45 PM
Description
There are currently many research projects worldwide that are trialing the integration of genomic sequencing into newborn screening programs (gNBSeq programs). The hope is that gNBSeq programs will enable babies that would not otherwise be identified to benefit from timely treatment. Such programs must navigate many issues with ethical, legal and social implications (ELSI), and the goal of this group is to develop a policy tool to support programmes to foresee and navigate these issues. This session will gather those within the gNBSeq community, as well as the wider Regulatory & Ethics Work Stream (REWS), to discuss and establish next steps of this work and to ensure that the direction of travel is still delivering against the initial aim.
