Name
Brainstorming technical next steps for the pathoplexus pathogen genomic data sharing ecosystem
Date & Time
Thursday, April 3, 2025, 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Description

PHA4GE has recently launched Pathoplexus, a new genomic data-sharing repository and community dedicated to advancing pathogen genomics. This session will provide an overview of its goals, highlight implementation progress to date, and foster an interactive discussion on leveraging key GA4GH standards to prioritise next steps for technical development.

Specifically, we aim to explore the application of the Data Repository Service (DRS), Passports, the Data Use Ontology (DUO), and Beacon. Early interest in participating has already been expressed by the Passports, DUO, and Beacon teams, signaling strong momentum for collaborative progress. This session will be hosted under the umbrella of the GA4GH Infectious Disease Community of Interest. This gathering offers a pivotal opportunity to reinvigorate the community, demonstrating how GA4GH standards can address the unique needs of the pathogen genomics field.
