The Genomic Knowledge Standards (GKS) Work Stream has product release milestones anticipated for key products such as the Variation Representation Specification (VRS), Categorical Variation Representation Specification (Cat-VRS), and Variant Annotation (VA) in early 2025, as well as a report of recommendations from the Sequence Annotation Study Group. Building on this momentum, this session will focus on prioritising and defining the next phase of activities for active products of the GKS Work Stream. The session will begin with an overview of the upcoming releases, highlighting key advancements and their anticipated impact on the genomics community. These discussions will inform prioritisation of activities for the GKS Work Stream 2025 product road map, supported by community needs and aligned with the broader GA4GH mission.
