The Discovery and Genomic Knowledge Standards (GKS) Work Stream develop Beacon and Variation Representation Specification (VRS) products, respectively, and are in discussions on how to use VRS (and eventually Variant Annotation Specification and Categorical Variation Representation Specification) to improve the Beacon APIs and lower the barrier for adoption.
In this "working" session, we will discuss design solutions that will help improve how variant-level matching (VLM) implementers can more easily stand up a VLM/Beacon node. We will aim to identify some shared tools and services that could be built and shared to do the same. This will NOT be a presentation-based session, and we suggest attendees that wish to participate have some familiarity with either VLM/Beacon or VRS v2.0 and the available reference tooling that is currently available.
