Wolfgang Maier originally received PhD in Neurochemistry but, moved to Genetics/Bioinformatics during postdoc. For the last 4 years, he has been a member of the Galaxy Europe team at the University of Freiburg, Germany. His main task is the development of tools and scientific analysis workflows for the Galaxy platform; as such, he is the main developer and maintainer of the SARS-CoV-2 genomic analysis workflows within the Galaxy Project.
