Name
Achieving clinical application of GA4GH products – a Triad
Description

Building on the outcomes of previous Connect sessions that identified barriers to realising the potential of GA4GH standards in clinical genomics, this workshop shifts focus toward actionable execution. By aligning this discussion with GA4GH leadership’s goals for organisational evolution, we pair enterprise strategy with grassroots community engagement to create a clear path to action.

We have categorised 15 previously identified action items into high-urgency goals across three pillars: 1) Leadership and Governance (demonstrating ROI, regulatory compliance); 2) TASC (internal harmonisation: building APIs/translators for HL7/FHIR compatibility, bridging data mapping gaps, etc.); 3) GA4GH Implementation Forum/National Initiatives Forum (external clinical implementations: developing tangible clinical use cases, refining feedback loops).

This Connect workshop will integrate key points made during National Initiatives Forum (NIF) and Plenary sessions into the pillars identified above. We will use discussion time to synthesise the "What" and "Why" of those items into concrete "Hows." Hosting in Singapore allows us to capture essential feedback from the Asian genomics community, which was not well represented during previous discussions. The output will be focused, community-driven guidance that provides leadership with the strategic tools that will help transition GA4GH products from research environments into robust tooling that can be used within clinical infrastructure.
