The Federated Analysis Work Stream builds the standards that let researchers send analysis to the data instead of hauling huge datasets around the world. Its APIs — Data Repository Service (DRS) for finding and accessing data, Task Execution Service (TES) and Workflow Execution Service (WES) for running tasks and workflows, Tool Registry Service (TRS) for sharing tools — are the plumbing behind federated genomics. This full-day hackathon is where that plumbing gets built and tested. Bring a laptop. We will organise topics before Connect and refine them on the day, then split into groups and write real code against real specs. Likely tracks include adding shared requirements and capabilities across the APIs, working through open Passport pull requests, aligning inputs and outputs between TES and WES so tasks and workflows speak the same language, and adding RO-Crate support for packaging results with their metadata. You do not need to be a spec author to join. If you can read an API doc and open a pull request, there is a seat for you. Newcomers can pair with maintainers, and everyone leaves having shipped something.
