Professor Michael Cook is Chief Science Officer at Our Future Health, a UK-based not-for-profit organisation that aims to recruit 5 million UK-resident adults into a prospective cohort study.

As part of an initial small team of 20 employees in 2021, Michael has designed and built Our Future Health from the ground up as a unique resource which will catalyse aetiological and translational research for both common and rare diseases. Our Future Health have already met milestones of: 2.9 million participants consented, 2.2 million participants completing the baseline questionnaire, 1.7 million participants linked to electronic health records, and 1.6 million participants completing an in-person appointment to donate health metrics and blood, making Our Future Health the largest prospective cohort study with biobanked blood samples in the world.

Michael provides senior and broad expertise in the molecular and epidemiological sciences, was previously a tenured, Senior Investigator at the US National Cancer Institute, NIH, and is a Visiting Professor at Imperial College London.
