Dr. Valis Tanapima is a Bunun Indigenous physician and Chief of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Cheng Hsin General Hospital, Taiwan. Her work sits at the intersection of emergency medicine, health systems, genomics, and Indigenous health equity. She serves on the Indigenous Health Policy Committee of Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and is Vice President of the Policy Group of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM). At National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, she contributes to research on the genomic diversity of Taiwan’s Indigenous peoples and advocates for the responsible translation of genomics into equitable health systems. Dr. Tanapima is also Vice President of the Red Cross Society of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
