Ritu Jain is president of DEBRA International and DEBRA Singapore supporting people living with the rare genetic disorder, Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). She is also a member of Singapore’s ACE consumer panel and serves on boards of various global patient alliances; she has recently contributed as advisor on the WHO strategic committee on newborn screening, diagnosis and management of birth defects. Ritu is also a sociolinguist by doctoral training, and holds 2 concurrent appointments at the School of Humanities and the School of Medicine at NTU. She remains research active in both Language Policy as well as issues such as Stigma among populations living with HIV and other less known conditions.
