The Experiment Metadata Study Group aims to define a set of metadata properties to be captured to describe sequencing experiments, as those are crucial to make sense of -omics results made available to the community. In this session, we will first have a look at the use cases to be submitted to the Standards Steering Committee to officialise this Study Group. Then, we will begin the technical work to prepare a draft properties checklist, based on the ENA Experiments Checklist. We will get an overview of the work done at EMBL-EBI on this, and will discuss with multiple Driver Project representatives, and other attendees, to evaluate how well this is fitting their needs in the context of real projects.
