Alham Saadat is a scientist, an ethicist, and the associate director of scientific equity at the Broad Institute in the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Allyship (IDEA) Office. She works with Broad’s Chief Equity Officer and colleagues in the IDEA team to advance institutional DEI objectives. Alham’s work focuses on increasing understanding of how decisions we make at all stages of research will impact health outcomes for people - particularly those that have been historically excluded and under-served. Prior to her role in the IDEA office, Alham worked on research projects aimed at understanding how non-coding regions of the genome are involved in cardiometabolic disease and served in leadership roles both within and outside of the Broad focused on issues at the intersection of research and health equity.
