Name
Influencing EPR and LIMS suppliers to adopt FHIR standards and native interoperability (part 2)
Description
This is part 2 of a two part session.
This session will aim to:
- introduce the programme of digital work being undertaken by the National Health Service (NHS) Genomics Medicine Service (GMS) in England, focusing on the challenges and opportunities for data sharing and interoperability across the national network;
- deep dive into how the NHS GMS is influencing the adoption of standards amongst industry partners through collaboration on the development of the Unified Genomic Record (UGR) using three case studies;
- align with the BEACON standard and PhenoPackets implementation guide for federated data discovery and compositions in the UGR;
- integrate the GA4GH DRS and htsget specs with FHIR for data retrieval within the GDAM API;
- investigate alignment between the Genomics Reporting FHIR IG and GA4GH VRS and Pedigree standards for variant representation and familial linkage within Order Management.
By creating a concordat on international standards EPR and LIMS suppliers could be influenced to adopt these standards, ensuring system interoperability and enriching data for direct care and research globally.
