Binay Panda is a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, one of India’s largest public universities. Besides India, Binay studied and worked in the UK, USA, Japan, Denmark. His group's main interests are genome science and medicine, data integration, building and optimizing tools for high-throughput biological data, and free and fair dissemination of biological data. He received his Doctorate Degree from the University of Oxford, UK, and Post-Doctoral training at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, CA, USA, with a Fellowship from the American Cancer Society. Binay was a Visiting Researcher of Genome Science at the University of Tokyo, Japan, and a visiting Professor at the Technical University, Denmark. Binay also taught courses at the University of California, Santa Cruz Extension. Binay co-authored India's first biological data sharing guidelines, called Promotion of Research and Innovation through Data Exchange Guidelines, published by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
