Mathias Ekman is part of the World Wide Health and Life Science team at Microsoft. His role is to work with key stakeholders at leading Healthcare and Biopharma organizations to accelerate the digital transformation and scientific discovery. Together with these organizations and the innovative Microsoft partner ecosystem, the goal is to democratize AI, leveraging world leading research and clinical knowledge to address some of the hardest challenges in society.

Ekman holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics focusing on large scale computing for solving problems explained by quantum physics. He is also part of the governance board of SweLife and the Genomic Medicine Sweden Informatics Advisory Board.
