Dr. Tobias Hamp is a Senior Manager at Illumina and works in the AI and Genome Interpretation lab under Kyle Farh.

His current research focuses on the prediction of pathogenicity of protein missense variants, in particular the PrimateAI project. He is the inventor of PrimateAI-3D and of algorithms for the detection of large structural variants for cytogenetics and reproductive health products. He has a doctorate in bioinformatics from the Technical University of Munich for the large-scale prediction of protein-protein interactions and protein functions
