Raili Sillart works at the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs, where she leads human-centric solutions, the long-term personalised medicine programme, genetic medicine programme and its implementation in Estonia. She is a key figure in drafting the country’s new Human Gene Research Act, leveraging Estonia’s pioneering legislation that has enabled the National Biobank — now representing one-fifth of the population and supporting nearly 1,000 scientific studies and innovative health solutions. She serves as Vice-Chair of ICPerMed, contributes to EP Permed, and is active in the 1+ Million Genomes initiative trust framework and itś projects, including Genomic Data Infrastructure (GDI), Genome of Europe, and B1MG+. Her mission is to turn high-quality genomic data into better health and better lives across Europe and beyond.
