During this talk you will learn why the Stanley Center began its global initiative to increase diversity in sample collections for severe mental illnesses, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Steve Hyman will discuss the importance of building trust with collaborators and developing an effective, culturally appropriate, and ethical approach to research in resource-poor settings.
