BEFORE THE MEETING

How do I register?

Event registration can be found here.

 

When does registration end?

In-person registration will close on 2 September 2024. In-person registration is not available onsite. Registration for virtual attendance will open on 14 August and remain open throughout the event.  


Should I register to attend Connect and NIF meetings?

All are welcome at the Connect and Plenary meetings.  Connect is a working meeting to advance GA4GH product development and collaborate on areas of shared interest.

Connect has previously benefited from attendance from active GA4GH contributors.  Please review the resources linked to each Connect session to learn more about the product and aims of the session.

Plenary sessions will have a more general audience in mind.  

At this time, NIF meetings are closed to NIF members.

How do I get to the venue?

Cabs or public transportation are available from the airport to the Park Hyatt Melbourne.

What visa do I need to have to travel to Australia?

A visa is required to enter Australia unless you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen. All visa information can be found here.

  • Australian citizens crossing the border: Travel documents required include a valid passport or other acceptable travel document and a completed and signed incoming passenger card
  • New Zealand citizens: Travel documents required include a valid passport and a completed and signed incoming passenger card
  • All other passengers: Travel documents required include a valid passport, visa, and a completed and signed incoming passenger card

These requirements are as of March 2024, and may be subject to change. We encourage you to plan ahead to acquire the necessary documentation. Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Dietary restrictions can be noted in the Plenary registration form. If you need to alter your preferences, please contact operations@ga4gh.org.

 

Will meals be served?

Lunch and tea breaks will be served at the venue. Passed hors devours will be served at the evening reception on Tuesday, 17 September.

DURING THE MEETING

When and where is registration?

Conference registration will be located outside of the Study. A member of GA4GH staff or our event planning partners will be stationed at the desk to support you with registration. 

Registration will open on:

  • Sunday, 15 September from 14:00 to 17:00 AEST;
  • 16 to 19 September, one hour before the start of each Connect or Plenary day. 

This is where you will receive your name badge. You must have registered and collected your name badge to join the Plenary welcome reception on Tuesday, 17 September. A member of the event staff will be at the registration desk on Tuesday for those arriving on that day.

 

Where can I find the agenda?

The agenda can be found on our Plenary website here, or via the 12th Plenary app.  We also have the agenda posted at the Welcome Desk, which is located in the main foyer. Session locations are all listed on the agenda

 

Do you have a Linktr.ee?

Yes! We have a Linktr.ee, available here, which houses the links to our conference website, agendas, event feedback form, and event FAQs.

 

If I am presenting a poster, where should I check in?

Please check in at the conference registration desk outside of the Study on 18 September (from 8:00 to 9:00 AEST) to receive your assigned location when you arrive to mount your poster. 

 

Where can I find the posters?

Poster sessions will be held in the main foyer. All posters will be up for the duration of Connect and Plenary for your perusal.  Set poster sessions will be held on 18 and 19 September from 11:00-11:30 AEST.

Will presentation slides be circulated during each session?

All sessions will be recorded and slides, meeting minutes, and recordings will be made available after the event.

 

Will meals be served?

Coffee and tea will be served in the morning and during break times. A light snack will be served during breaks. Lunch will be served on each conference day. Passed hors devours will be served at the evening reception on Tuesday, 17 September. Please note, breakfast and dinner will not be provided.

 

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Dietary restrictions have been noted from your Plenary registration form. There will be separate meals that accommodate dietary restrictions.

 

Will the conference rooms have outlets?

There are a limited number of outlets in each breakout room. There are additional outlets in the hotel lobby. Please remember to bring an outlet adaptor with you.

 

Is there an event mobile app that I can download for more information?

Yes, there is a mobile app available for 12th Plenary. It can be downloaded from the Apple Store or Google Play. The app will allow you to customise your own agenda based on the sessions for which you register, as well as receive event updates. You may also message other event participants to stay connected throughout the event.

 

When is the Plenary welcome reception?

An evening welcome reception will take place on Tuesday, 17 September at 18:00 AEST. Enjoy refreshments, network with attendees, and experience a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with Australian wildlife! Passed hors devours will be served at the reception. You must have registered and collected your name badge to join the Plenary welcome reception. A member of the event staff will be at the registration desk on Tuesday to help you register if you are arriving on that day.
